What is Sunbrella?
Sunbrella Fabric, developed over 45 years ago as a replacement for cotton canvas awnings and boat covers is the standard by which all other outdoor fabric is judged today. Sunbrella, the brand, is manufactured by Glen Raven Mills and was the first to introduce the solution-dyed-acrylic process to the casual furniture industry twenty years ago. It has been used by BMW, General Motors, and Ford as the outer layer of premium automotive convertible tops.
It’s fade resistant property makes it an excellent choice not only for outdoor use but also great rooms, conservatories, and any other room in your home with lots of windows and sunlight.
Sunbrella leads the way in innovation of outdoor fabrics
Today, more than ever, Sunbrella continues to lead the market in innovation. Below are a few of the new products that go in the direction of challenging the notion that Sunbrella is just for the outside. Chenilles, textures, and soft plush fibers are perfect for every room in the home.
It is the fabric of choice for many of today’s well known fabric designers as evidenced by the wonderful collections of Joe Ruggiero.
